Bangladeshi cultural personality, lyricist and writer M Miraz Hossain has received the Indira Gandhi Golden Award at the ‘Bharat Bangladesh Sahitya Sanskriti Utsav-2022’ organized by India Bangladesh Sahitya Sanskritu Parishad in recognition of his contribution to literary works and human welfare. This golden award was handed over to him in a ceremony organized at Jadavpur University Auditorium in India on Friday evening, September 16.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University Professor Dr. Pavitra Sarkar was the chief guest on the occasion. National Human Rights Society Bangladesh chairman Md. Nazrul Islam Tamiji inaugurated the event. Member of West Bengal Rajya Sabha Subhashis Chakraborty was the special guest.
In this context, M Miraz Hossain said, Indira Gandhi is a respectable noblewoman. I am proud and honored to receive the award instituted in her name. The award will encourage me to do creative work in the future.
Incidentally, M Miraz Hossain is working as a director of a reputed business organization in his professional life, but he is a cultural personality in the beginning. He has written several popular songs. Among them are Konal and Tahsin’s `Tumi kace asbe’, Mahtim Saqib’s ‘Tobu dekha hok’, Tuhin’s ‘Tumi chara ami jemon’.
Besides, he is associated with various local and international social organizations. Already three books written by him have been published.
