by M Miraz Hossain, former managing director of MP Sweaters Ltd and director of Keya Cosmetics Limited, has been extending his support to humanitarian aid for a significant period of time now.
During his time in Canada, he worked as an assistant project director on a project called ”Special Child Survival”, initiated by the United Nations Association of Canada.
During his tenure as an assistant director, he successfully completed organ transplant projects through plastic surgery for children with accidents or birth defects.
He was also actively involved in various Unicef projects aimed at reducing child mortality and protecting the physical and mental health of children in underdeveloped and least developed countries.
He has long served as an assistant project director in a project undertaken by an UN-aided organization to improve the living standards of fishermen and increase education rates in the Malaysian state of Penang.
Hossain also organized a project aided by the UN titled “Acid Survivor Fundraising Program” in Mahabalipuram at Tamil Nadu, India.
Arriving in Bangladesh, he initiated many social organizations, namely “Roman’s Youth Society”, “Central Road Development Forum”, “Praner Batch-93” and more.
He also established assistance for those from the SSC 1993 who fell in harsh times amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Other social activities also include special scholarship programs for marginalized students, relief and medical aid for the needy amid the pandemic, Iftar programs at orphanages and old homes, among others.
The Keya Cosmetics director is also responsible for setting up a separate voluntary platform “Keya Students Forum Bangladesh” in 2020 with the intention of involving the students in social work.
He currently serves as its president, which has over 1,000 members across the country.
Various social activities have been carried out under his direct supervision including tree planting in each district, special relief assistance during the pandemic, distribution of winter clothes among street children and distribution of books in school libraries in remote areas.
Above all, KSFB is working to provide equal opportunities for talent development among the students.
